How to request an update: Pacific Solutions Hosted clients
This section is for you if Pacific Solutions hosts your JobRunner or FloorManager ERP.
- Submit a helpdesk ticket to let us know you would like to update.
- A member of our team will contact you to schedule a time that works for you.
There is no additional cost for the update or upgrade, and no form to complete. We also send you a reminder from time to time when a new update is available.
How to request an update, upgrade, or migration: self-hosted clients
This section is for you if your company hosts its own FileMaker Server.
Updates, upgrades, and migrations are a fee-based service, available to all customers with an active maintenance contract. Follow these three steps and we will take it from there.
Step 1: Identify the service you need
We offer three services. You may need one of them, or a combination.
JobRunner/FloorManager ERP Managed Update
Applies the latest version of JobRunner or FloorManager. It keeps your ERP current and stable without changing your server infrastructure. A FileMaker Server Upgrade is not always required. This service includes:
- Updating application files and database components
- Applying enhancements, bug fixes, and new features
FileMaker Server Upgrade
Upgrades the underlying database platform (FileMaker Server) to a newer supported version, so it stays compatible with current JobRunner or FloorManager releases and integrations. This service includes:
- Upgrading FileMaker Server software to a supported version
- Validating server and workstation hardware compatibility
- Confirming the environment meets system requirements before proceeding
FileMaker/ERP Server Migration
Moves the FileMaker Server environment and your ERP system from one server to another, either to new hardware or to a different hosting model. This service includes:
- Validating that the new server's specifications meet requirements
- Moving databases and the application environment to the new server
- Reconfiguring FileMaker Server and related services
- Coordinating a FileMaker Server Upgrade, a JobRunner/FloorManager ERP Managed Update, or both as part of the move, if needed
Step 2: Check compatibility
Your FileMaker Server version needs to support the JobRunner or FloorManager version you are updating to. If it does not, you will need a FileMaker Server Upgrade along with your JobRunner/FloorManager ERP Managed Update.
| JobRunner or FloorManager version | FileMaker 2023 (version 20) | FileMaker 19 | FileMaker 18 | FileMaker 17 and earlier |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| v26 | Yes | Yes | No | No |
| v25 | Yes | Yes | No | No |
| v24 | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
| v23 | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
Note: v26 is a visual enhancement of v25, so its FileMaker requirements are the same as v25.
To find your current versions, see this article: How to check your JobRunner, FloorManager, and FileMaker versions.
Step 3: Submit your request
Option A: JobRunner/FloorManager ERP Managed Update only
Choose this option if your FileMaker Server is already compatible and is staying on the same server.
To submit your request:
- Contact your Cyncly Account Manager or the Pacific Solutions Helpdesk (pacificsolutions-support@cyncly.com) for a service quote.
- A member of our team will follow up with you about your request.
Note: You do not need to complete the server upgrade or migration review request form for this option.
Option B: Any request that includes a FileMaker Server Upgrade or a FileMaker/ERP Server Migration
Choose this option for any of the following:
- JobRunner/FloorManager ERP Managed Update and FileMaker Server Upgrade
- JobRunner/FloorManager ERP Managed Update, FileMaker Server Upgrade, and FileMaker/ERP Server Migration
- FileMaker Server Upgrade only
- FileMaker/ERP Server Migration only
To submit your request:
- Review the server and workstation hardware requirements and the release notes for your target version: v26 · v25 · v24 · v23 · v22
- Complete and submit the server upgrade or migration review request form.
- A member of our team will follow up with you to schedule the work.
Note: The review request form is required for this option. It lets us confirm that your hardware will support the upgraded versions before any work begins.
Review a new server before you buy
If you plan to purchase a new server, submit the planned specifications through the server upgrade or migration review request form before you purchase. We are happy to review them and will let you know if anything needs to change to meet the minimum requirements.
Move to Pacific Solutions Hosting
If you would like us to host your system for you, request a hosting quote using the online form.
What to expect during an update
This section applies to all clients. Here is what you can plan for.
- Downtime: Please plan for an outage of 2 to 4 hours with every update. No one will be able to use JobRunner or FloorManager during that time, so we will schedule it with you in advance.
- Who does the work: Our team completes the entire process for you. Each update involves a number of system and performance checks, so we recommend that you do not perform updates, upgrades, or migrations yourself.
- Training if you are currently on v22 or newer: You will receive self-guided training material with every update.
- Training if you are currently on v21 or earlier: We recommend at least two hours of one-on-one training with a Pacific Solutions trainer, because there is a lot that is new compared with these versions. You are welcome to purchase additional hours.
