Overview
Issue: JavaScript Error when Launching FortiClient
When a user launches FortiClient on a Windows PC, they are presented with the following error message:

Resolution Steps
- Uninstall the FortiClient Software.
- Reboot your PC.
- Uninstall any Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable package found in the Control Panel
- Reboot PC.
- Install the latest version of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Version: https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe
- Reinstall FortiClient: https://pacific-solutions.sharefile.com/d-s02f7d32fa99e4b4abb96cac49ba595c7
- If prompted to reboot your computer, please reboot your computer.
- Try to run the FortiClient VPN client again.
Issue Persists
If issues persist, please submit a helpdesk ticket. In the ticket, please include a screenshot of your Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features
Fortinet will require the screenshot to verify (1) FortiClient VPN has been reinstalled recently, (2) the most recent Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable has been reinstalled, and (3) older Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables have been uninstalled.
