Completing a Course in Cyncly Academy

Course Components

Each course in the Cyncly Academy contains chapters, which contain lessons. Lessons come in three varieties: self-guided lessons, live lessons, and assignments. A lesson might contain instructions, videos, PDF documents, assessments, and an opportunity to upload finished work to complete it.

Many courses contain lessons that build upon skills as they progress. These types of lessons are dependent on the previous lessons being completed before the learner moves to the new lesson. The course will alert you if you are attempting to complete a lesson ahead of another lesson and direct you back to the lesson that needs to be completed.

Course Workspace

The screen space that you work in while participating in a course has a navigation pane and a lesson materials space.

The navigation pane displays the number of chapters and lessons. This pane also shows the progress you are making through the course.

The chapters and lessons are visible in the expandable menus. The completed lessons are marked with a green check mark.

The lesson material space shows all the materials for that lesson.

Read instructions in each lesson.

Watching videos inside the viewer online will move the progress circle to completion that goes around the camera icon at the top of the video screen.

Use the Complete and Continue button to finish the active lesson and move to the next lesson.

Tip: Videos will pause if the viewer is not the active application in the foreground. Use the play button to resume the video playback.

Watch the videos in the online viewing method for the lesson to keep progress of how much of the video has been watched. The lesson will not complete and let you move on unless it detects that the video has played to the end. Once you have watched the video, you may download it so that it is easier to reference as you work through assignments.

The lesson keeps track of the scrolling of the documents to understand its completion. You may download the documents once you have scrolled through the document to use in your lesson if you prefer paper.

Special Note: Fillable PDF documents need to be downloaded in order to be filled in through a PDF application.

Assignment lessons contain materials that need to be downloaded. Although these PDF documents can be viewed online in the browser, you will not be able to fill them in online. Please download the assignment documents so that you can use a PDF application to fill them in, save and then submit them.

Use the 3 ellipses (dots) on the document and select to download it.

Once you complete the assignment, upload it with the Submit Assignment button.

Assessments are tests that are offered to reinforce simple concepts in the course.

Use the Start Test button to begin the assessment.

The Start Test Button will open a new page for the assessment.

Each question appears on a new page.

Answer the question, then click the next button. Repeat this until all questions are answered.

Your progress is displayed at the top right.

Click the Finish and Preview button to complete the test.

The preview page allows you to review your answers and make corrections. Once you submit the test, you may retake it if you don't pass.

When viewing some screens throughout the course, you will have an ESC button available to close the screen being viewed. This button is located to the right of the entire web browser page.

You will receive reminder emails about completing your course periodically. This is a friendly gesture to remind you to complete the course. Once you fully complete the course, you will receive a certificate of completion.
