Systems on versions v21b8 or higher have a feature at the vendor level to assist users in understanding if materials will be able to arrive in time to meet a project's start date. This feature highlights a date field at the PO to indicate that materials will not arrive in time to meet the job start date at the project.

There is no activation needed for this function. 

The lead time is entered using the number of days it takes to receive material from the vendor. On the products tab, locate the field at the bottom labeled Lead Time (Days). Enter the number of days it typically takes for material to arrive from the vendor.

Use the job start date field at the project to indicate when the project needs to start.

When the material is transferred to a purchase order, the system calculates whether the selected vendor on the PO can meet the job's start date based on the lead time days from the vendor record.

The Job Start Date field on the PO will be highlighted in red if the start date of the job is before the materials can arrive based on the vendor's lead time in days.

This is a visual queue to assist users in proactively making project management decisions.
