Overview
Pacific Solutions' management systems (JobRunner and FloorManager) use FileMaker as their engine. This program picks up the computer name when our Filemaker is installed. This computer name is also used in automated system messages. An example of the automated message will be similar to "Debbie Smith is on this Record, and you may not modify." At times, the employee may not still be at the organization; the name is connected to the FileMaker database from the name of the computer at the time the database was loaded. It is not related to the user signed into the software. It is related directly to the computer's name. This article will discuss how to correct the name.
Changing Computer Name
You can modify the computer name in FileMaker Preferences. To change the name, use Edit and, from the drop-down menu, choose Preferences. From the General Tab of Preferences, you may make the name change in the Username box. Use OK to accept the change.
