Overview
Having a clean Product catalog is important to accurate sales numbers, when there are multiple products, the need arises to eliminate one of them.
Process
This is easy if there is no activity Simply click on the Entry Tab then the Delete button at the top of the record.
But what if both products have been used on Quotes and sales in the past? This can also be achieved with only a few steps.
Take note of both of the duplicate PID #'s. (Product ID #'s)
First archive the one you do not want to see in the product catalog.
Then in inventory, perform a find of the archived PID # for material left on hand (you might need to include expired, first try without).
Using the Entry tab in the Inventory record, change the Product ID # to the catalog # you did not archive. Keep in mind this does not change the PID on any jobs that had the other PID # allocated. Best practice is not to change any inventory # that already has material assigned to Jobs.
