Setting Up Commission Structures

Commission structures are set up in the admin area under the store personnel button. Clicking the “i” icon next to the employee’s name, opens the set up tabs specific for that individual.

Open the Commission Tab to display the set up area for commissions

Enter the type of commission from the drop down list in the “Commission Type” field. These commission types are explained in the Commission Types Explained document. Indicate which job criteria needs to be completed before commission can be set on this individual’s jobs in the Commission Set Based On area. The sale (job/order) must have these items completed in full in order for commission to be set.

The table to the right is the area to build the commission structure for this individual. There are up to 50 levels available for commission structures.

Negative commission may also be created within the multi-level commission structure. This means that when the sale/order (job) margin level drops to below a specified percent, the system will calculate a negative commission rate. If you want the system to calculate negative commissions, you must create negatives in the commission structure.

Once the structure is complete, each Order/Sale created for the sales person will carry the commission structure. However, it is important to understand that any jobs created BEFORE creating a commission structure will NOT immediately be assigned the created commission structure.

The “Update Sales” button at the bottom right of the commission levels will update all Orders/Sales that are open and have not had commission set on them. There are a few cases where you may need to refresh existing jobs with the new structure by re-selecting the sales person’s name(s) at the job itself in order to get commissions to calculate.
Commissions will only calculate and send information to the Commissions Owed report once the commissions have been set.
