Journal Entries for Jobs and Importing Basics

Overview

Most of the journal entries in the system are created by automated events such as Accepting an AP Payable, Accepting a Customer Payment, Applying a Customer Payment, etc.    But sometimes a human wants to do it themselves, especially for Payroll, month-end adjustments, etc.   This article covers the basics of general journal entries performed either manually or by using the Import Journal routine, and how a journal entry can affect Additional (Misc) Purchases on a job.

Spreadsheet Format  

The format for the spreadsheet to import is very simplistic, 5 columns, in this order.  
One Debit or Credit per line.   The GL number must be an active posting GL from your Ledger list.  No blank rows.

GL Acct Number
